Shell leaves South Africa: 'Providers left behind will reap benefits'
Shell is planning to exit South Africa after over 120 years, but it's not all bad news.

Shell plans to exit South Africa after a fallout with BEE partner Thebe Investment Corporation.
The company employs thousands across urban and rural areas at approximately 700 Shell garages.

According to Morkel, the fuel providers left behind will reap the benefits of Shell’s exit.

As long as there is demand for fuel in our country, the best thing for the industry will be to supply this most affordably, says Morkel.
He argues for local refining of products.
