Amazon has officially launched in the country and according to the shopping giant, customers can choose from a variety of brands at great prices.
Shoppers can have the digital experience either on the website or by downloading the app.
For first-time users, delivery on orders will be free thereafter only orders over R500 will enjoy this benefit
According to Amazon, customers will also receive status updates via WhatsApp, so they can track their order every step of the way.
Robert Koen, managing director of Amazon Sub-Saharan Africa said that the online retail giant was excited about the launch.
"We are excited to launch Amazon.co.za, along with thousands of independent sellers in South Africa. We provide customers with great value, broad selection and a convenient delivery experience."
Amazon has also partnered with goGOGOgo, a South African non-profit organisation, offering customers the opportunity to package certain products in handmade gift bags.
