Mabuza urges Tshwane communities to give ANC another chance

JOHANNESBURG - Former African National Congress (ANC) deputy president, David Mabuza, has urged communities in Tshwane to give the party another chance to govern.

David Mabuza who joined the ANC’s campaign trail on Sunday, led a door-to-door in Olievenhoutbosch, south of Pretoria.

Speaking on the sidelines of his campaign, Mabuza said that the party will not neglect the township.

While the former ANC deputy president admitted that the party has made some mistakes, he believes it has also made significant progress in making life better.

"We are quite aware that the journey is still too long. There are a number of areas where things are still outstanding. The amount of work we have done is inadequate, we have made progress but we’re still going on. So we are here to request our people to give the ANC an opportunity."

Some community members have shared that they believe the ANC-led government is the only party capable of leading the country.

Olievenhoutbosch resident, Joseph Mahapa, said that despite ongoing challenges in the township, the party has kept its promises.

"The ANC has made a lot of mistakes, of which they can just fix what they did wrong and then life goes on."

Mabuza said that the party would emerge victorious despite the many hurdles it continues to face.
