CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile said that a proposal to pay Community Policing Forum (CPF) members a stipend, is being considered.

The proposal was submitted to police management by CPFs in the Western Cape.

They want to be paid a stipend for the work they do in various communities across the province.

Patekile said that work was already being done to support CPFs.

"Remember we started with capacitating the CPFs in terms of other resources. We bought vehicles, torches and reflective gear. But it's a proposal worth looking at."
