DURBAN - The State in the murder case of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and celebrity chef, Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane, maintains that accused number three, Siyanda Myeza, provided the firearms used to kill the two friends.
The State is on Friday morning responding to arguments made by defence lawyers in the high-profile case in the Durban Magistrates Court.
Forbes and Motsoane were shot and killed in Durban last year, outside a restaurant.
Five men accused of being involved in the murder are applying for bail.
State prosecutor advocate Lawrance Gcaba said they had evidence that the weapons were arranged for the attack.
"Exhibition G explains clearly that there was an arrangement for people to go collect tools, the tools if I can use that loose word, which tools were going to be used to kill the deceased, in particular deceased number one."
He added that after the weapons were used, they were returned to the alleged distributor.
"Hence in April 2023, it was found in the possession of accused three. We have evidence that says he made arrangements for it to be given to the co-accused and those that are in Swaziland used at will and brought back."
Proceedings are continuing.
