JOHANNESBURG - Former African National Congress (ANC) president Jacob Zuma has been summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee next Tuesday.
ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri has confirmed to Eyewitness News that Zuma has been served with notice through the appropriate channels.
The ANC suspended Zuma in January after he announced he would be campaigning and voting for the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
The ANC has taken another step to completely sever ties with its former president Jacob Zuma.

Over the past couple of months, Zuma and the ANC have exchanged blows during their respective election campaigns.
Bhengu-Motsiri says the process will continue whether Zuma appears or not.
"The relevant sections of the Constitution will then kick in the guidelines that advise the work of the national disciplinary committee. I'm not at liberty to speak on behalf of the national disciplinary committee as this is an autonomous constitutional organ of the ANC."
MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela says Zuma will be present for his hearing.
