Khaka made her100th international appearance in the third and final ICC Women’s Championship One-Day International against Sri Lanka in Potchefstroom.
She has come a long way since making her debut in 2012.
“For me as a player, milestones are not something that I look at a lot, I try to go onto the field and represent myself and the country and inspire the kids.”
- Ayabonga Khaka, fast bowler – Proteas Women
She becomes the ninth Proteas Women player to achieve the monumental 200-cap mark in ODI cricket.
She is the first black African woman, and only the third Black African cricketer (behind Makhaya Ntini and Kagiso Rabada), to achieve a century of matches in the 50-over format in the history of SA cricket.
“Being in such great company means a lot. I am grateful for those guys to be honest. Mkhaya Ntini is someone that I looked up to when I was growing up, he was someone I could relate to.”
