DURBAN - The five men accused of being involved in the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend, celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane are due back in court on Thursday.
The pair was shot and killed on Durban’s popular Florida Road in February 2023.
On Thursday, the Durban Magistrates Court is expected to hear closing arguments for the bail application of the five accused.
Replying to the State's arguments during a previous court appearance, the defence said it was certain that the State did not have a strong case against them.
This led the State to request a further reply to new arguments that were presented in court.
Subsequently, Magistrate Vincent Hlatswayo postponed matters to allow for further arguments.
"We’ve agreed in chambers to postpone the matter to a later date, later than the date we indicated to you earlier on the 25th of April. The date now for arguments by both parties is the second of 2nd May."
It's been three months since this high-profile murder court case started, and two other accused are yet to be extradited from Eswatini.
