Kaunda reaffirms eThekwini's commitment to addressing infrastructure backlog

DURBAN – The mayor of eThekwini, Mxolisi Kaunda, has reaffirmed the city’s commitment to addressing its infrastructure backlog.
Kaunda delivered his State of the City Address on Tuesday night, looking at what he termed progress that the municipality had made.

The metro's infrastructure issues include challenges with the stormwater drainage system and damaged roads.
Kaunda said this was something they wanted to get right for the economic hub.
"At the same time, rapid urbanisation, severe weather disasters, aging infrastructure - making the delivery of services to our residents a moving target, we remain resolute to tackle our infrastructure backlog."
