CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police say their efforts to clamp down on organised crime are bearing fruit.
This after they confiscated R4.6 million and 16 luxury watches from a house in Claremont believed to be that of alleged gang boss, Ralph Stanfield, over the weekend.
Police say they also arrested a 34-year-old man for defeating the ends of justice and possession of presumed stolen property during the raid.
Stanfield is currently in custody accused of a string of charges, including an alleged attempted hit on his former driver, whom he and his wife accused of stealing over R1 million from them.
He's also facing a gun charge from his arrest in September last year when he was found to be in possession of an unlicenced shotgun and ammunition.
The police's Novela Potelwa: "Investigations into the origins of the cash and watches continue."
