JOHANNESBURG - Political parties Build One South Africa (BOSA), ActionSA, and RISE Mzansi are commemorating Freedom Day with some of them saying that true freedom has not been fully realised.
For some of these organisations, this is officially their first time meeting South Africans on this significant day as they gear up for May’s polls.
ActionSA said despite 30 years of democracy in the country, thousands of people remain stuck in a cycle of poverty, while crime has spiralled out of control.
The party said South Africans have an opportunity to correct this when they vote on 29 May.
Echoing the same sentiments, RISE Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi said South Africans can’t be truly free when they’re faced with unemployment and water challenges.
Zibi said RISE Mzansi recommits itself to continue fighting for freedom when they led a walk in Soweto.
Meanwhile, in the north of Johannesburg, the Economic Freedom fighters (EFF) in Gauteng is hosting an event at the Alexandra Stadium.
