Hylton Tannenbaum, writer, co -director and executive producer of new local coming-of-age comedy Just Now Jeffrey joins CapeTalk's John Maytham to talk about the film.
While South Africa battles through civil unrest and the final days of apartheid, Jeffrey Greenbaum battles through his raging hormones and the final days of high school.
Will he be able to lose his virginity before the country goes up in flames?
So is the premise of a new local coming-of-age comedy due to hit cinemas from 4 May.
The movie features a well-known local ensemble cast including comedians Rob van Vuuren and Nik Rabinowitz.
Hylton Tannenbaum is the writer, co-director and executive producer.
So how's he feeling ahead of the gala premiere tonight (Thursday)?
Absolutely terrified, he admits.
"It's a four year process from when we started writing and four years working on it everyday comes down to two hours of people watching it in cinemas."

"Steven Spielberg was saying he never gets used to it. Every time he premiers a film he's in the bathroom throwing up, I thought, that's weird, with that kind of track record, but I'm feeling pretty much the same way."

Hylton's co-writer and director on the project is Brett Morris, an award-winning advertising executive and a published fiction, non-fiction and feature film script writer.
"Brett and I grew up watching American films and British films and we never ever saw ourselves on screen and although we had such similar experiences in adolescence ...we wanted to normalise our youths and show that we have a similar experience."
