JOHANNESBURG - The Limpopo Department of Education rubbished claims of a teaching crisis at its schools caused by vacant teacher posts.
It is among the top three provinces in the country with educator vacancies that are not filled.
Last week, Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga admitted that there were over 31,000 posts in the country that had not been occupied.
Provincial department spokesperson, Mosebeane Kgaffe, said there were teachers filling in on a temporary basis.
"The MEC assures the province that the department cares for and provides the necessary resources to all the schools, the most critical resourcing of them being provisioning of educators."
