Makabe took a job as a Mr D driver while he worked to obtain his Education Degree from the University of Free State.

After hard work and determination, he was finally ready to graduate on 20 April.

However, he received a phone call from home just days before he was supposed to walk the stage, saying his mom was too sick to travel the long distance to his graduation.

He told his colleagues at Mr D how devastated he was about this and they made sure he did not experience this milestone alone.

“I did not know they were coming, they decided at the last minute.”

His coworkers escorted him to his graduation on their motorbikes to support him as he got his degree.

He rode in the car with one coworker, while the rest surrounded him cheering for his incredible achievement.
