Heerschap's murder is part of the 124 charges Modack and his 14 co-accused face in the Western Cape High Court.
A State witness and self-confessed hitman who can only be identified as Mr A - testifies that one of the accused, Mario Petersen, hid the gun that was used in the Heerschap murder.
Mr A says Petersen drove himself and another accused, Riyaat Gesant, to and from the murder scene in Melkbostrand
He says Petersen later helped burn the car they used for the murder before offering his girlfriend's house as a place to hide the gun Mr A used to kill Heerschap.
Petersen's attorney, Scanlyn Collins, told the court his client will deny playing any part in the murder of Heerschap.
The trial continues.
