Drive With Thando team (947) catches up on the latest viral news with the Good Things Guy, Brent Lindeque.

Listen to the discussion below.

Lindeque reports on a South African police officer going viral.

Affectionally dubbed the ‘hot cop’, Officer Devon Cox from East London is winning hearts and laughs across the nation after a mirror selfie of him in uniform hit social media.

He is a constable in the SAPS Flying Squad.

“When I first saw the photo, I didn’t believe he was South African... The guy’s got game.”
Brent Lindeque, Good Things Guys

His comment section was immediately flooded with witty and raunchy pickup lines.

Nontobeko Ntuli: ‘Please arrest me 🥺’
Nontour Forbes: ‘You can arrest me anytime 😍’
Nqobile Majola: ‘Southa Africa South Africa????? Haibo sure sure?? 😭😍’
Thandoh Precious Makhathini: ‘I think I'm guilty please arrest me 🥺🥺’

All in all, this is a lighthearted fun story that we don’t often get to hear from the SAPS, says Lindeque.

“I think my favourite thing of all this is the comments that we’ve got. The one woman here says, ‘I think I’m guilty of something, I don’t know what it is but I should be investigated’.”
Matt Flax, Drive With Thando
“Let me tell you, the comments have been flooding in… I had to hide some of the comments because they were so raunchy but it’s been so entertaining to watch people just celebrating our police force because sometimes the stories we get are absolutely horrid.”
Brent Lindeque, Good Things Guy
“Here is something that is making us a little bit happy, it’s bringing joy to South Africa. And while the spotlight might be on Officer Devon Cox for his striking looks… it's essential to remember the hard work and dedication that he and his colleagues put into keeping South Africa safe every day.”
Brent Lindeque, Good Things Guy
