Yip, the full moon is set to 'shine' bright on Wednesday (24 April) at around 1:48 am.

What is a full moon?

A full moon is one of eight lunar phases, in which the entire illuminated face of the Moon is visible from Earth. The full moon is typically considered the most striking of the lunar phases because the most sunlight reflects off the Moon toward Earth.

Although the moon is technically full only for a moment (as it is in constant orbit around the Earth), it appears completely illuminated for as many as three days, including the day before and the day after.

Sometimes a full moon can cause a lunar eclipse...

Two or three times a year, the Full Moon phase coincides with the Moon reaching the lunar nodes of its orbit. These are the points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic, which is the Sun's path, seen from Earth. When this happens, Earth casts its shadow on the Full Moon, causing a lunar eclipse.

What does this mean?

Spiritual enthusiasts suggest that the full moon might symbolise deep emotion, completion, and spiritual growth. Emotions can be extreme during the full moon, and full moon energy can manifest in different ways — you may feel creative, anxious, sensitive, or exhausted.

A full moon can also affect sleep...

There's also evidence that a full moon can lead to less deep sleep and delays in entering REM sleep.

Don't forget to look up tomorrow night!
