JOHANNESBURG - If you thought summer was over, think again.

The dip in temperatures experienced in Gauteng last week looks like it was short-lived.

As we head into this week, the SA Weather Service says the mercury is expected to rise again, with highs of more than 30 degrees Celsius forecast in some parts of the province for the next few days.

Forecaster Luthando Masimini: "It's going to be warm temperatures. Today, we are expecting a maximum of 32 for Pretoria. Joburg - 30. To the south, Vereeniging, about 30 as well. Similar temperatures basically are expected for the next couple of days. We're expecting temperatures in the late 20s, reaching 30s."

Masimini said that temperatures may drop slightly going into the weekend as a result of a cold front but that the impact shouldn’t to be felt too severely in Gauteng, with highs in the mid-twenties still expected.
