In a statement to Eyewitness News  the family of slain Rand Water executive Teboho Joala say they are confident the criminal justice system will bring them closure.

Joala’s family declined to comment in the Lenasia court on Monday, stating that the case is at a very sensitive stage.

This as three men appeared in connection with Joala’s and his bodyguard's murder.

Rand Water echoed the family’s sentiments, claiming they want to afford police space to investigate the matter.

Joala served as the chief shared services officer at Rand Water and was also a member of the board.

The men arrested for Joala and Shange’s murder are facing charges of double murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

Joala was laid to rest on the 4th of February in Pretoria, just four days after his murder.

He was 50 at the time.
