JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) chairperson in Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi, is attending a church service at the Anglican Church of Southern Africa in Kagiso on the West Rand on Sunday.
Lesufi is joined by officials from the provincial and regional executive committees - Nomathemba Mokgethi and Brenda Mahuma.
The organisation’s faith base sub-committee has deployed its members to several churches in Krugersdorp and Ekurhuleni.
With the national and provincial elections fast approaching, the ANC in Gauteng is tightening relations with religious institutions across the province.
This is a common practice in the ANC - which often turns to faith-based organisations to maintain and garner more support from churchgoers.
The Anglican Church of Southern Africa in Kagiso has welcomed Lesufi.
The church says it is delighted that the party still engages closely with religious institutions.
