JOHANNESBURG - Newly elected Ekurhuleni mayor, Doctor Xhakaza, said that the African National Congress-led government inherited a broken municipality from the Democratic Alliance-led coalition.
He was speaking at 702’s election town hall in Katlehong on Wednesday, where community members expressed their service delivery frustrations.
Xhakaza hit back at suggestions insisting that the ANC was responsible for the decline in service delivery in the city.
He said that the DA was at the helm of many issues faced by Ekurhuleni residents today.
"When you took over government in 2021, the city was clean. We used to have the budget of the city was also stable, so I think the DA really, they speak about Cape Town, but Cape Town is only one town."
