CAPE TOWN - Nicolette Kinnear, the wife of slain top cop Charl Kinnear, says she hopes everyone, including police officers, are brought to book for her husband's murder.
Alleged underworld kingpin, Nafiz Modack, and 14 others are on trial in the Western Cape High Court this week, where they face more than 100 charges, some related to the senior police officer's murder.
Kinnear said she believed that more people were involved in her husband's murder in September 2019, when he was shot outside their home in Bishop Lavis.
"Obviously, our ultimate stance is still that justice be served, be that everyone, whether there were police officers involved, it doesn't matter who, that everyone would be brought to book."
Kinnear said that an ongoing investigation into her husband's murder would determine whether more suspects were hauled before the court.
"Do I believe that it's only the 15 that are currently in the dock? No, I don't. But that's not my place. There is an ongoing investigation, so obviously, as things unfold, can still be added."
Kinnear said she hoped the accused in the matter exposed more suspects who might be involved in her husband's murder.
