JOHANNESBURG - With just one new face added to the mayoral Cabinet, newly elected Ekurhuleni Mayor Doctor Xhakaza insisted there would be a change from the previous administration.
On Monday, Xhakaza announced his ten-member committee with one addition from the previous one.

African National Congress (ANC) councillor and former Human Settlements MMC, Masele Madihlaba, made way for his fellow party member, Mzayifani Ngwenya, in the committee, while Xhakaza's MMC seat was filled by the man he replaced as mayor, Sivuyile Ngodwana.
While the ANC in Ekurhuleni abstained from voting in the motion of no confidence in Ngodwana, it publicly made its feelings known that it wanted a change of government in the metro.
However, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) retained its five MMC seats, while the ANC now has four and the mayoral chains.
Xhakaza said it would be different under his leadership.
"What is important is while we note some of the changes, it’s the type of programme and the attitude and culture in terms of how we are going to be working, and I think these are some of the things we will greater articulate as we move forward."
The MMCs will officially be sworn in on Tuesday.
