JOHANNESBURG - The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has set up 23,292 voting stations across the country for the upcoming elections.

It said KwaZulu-Natal would have the highest allocation of stations, followed by Eastern Cape and Limpopo.

The commission briefed the media on Tuesday morning, where it revealed it was now ready to go ahead with the printing of the ballot paper.

Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo said the IEC concluded all lease agreements with landlords and owners of where the stations would be located.

"Ninety-five percent of our logistical supplies for the elections are already at hand. We are in the process of distributing 1,873 tonnes of material between our different warehouses and storage facilities."
