Hlabisa says IFP not threatened by MK Party in KZN
IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa also says the IFP is not leaning towards the ruling party for coalition governance because 'the ANC destroyed the country'.

CAPE TOWN - Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Velenkosini Hlabisa says he doesn’t feel threatened by Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Speaking at the Cape Town Press Club on Tuesday, Hlabisa said it would only be disgruntled African National Congress (ANC) members who would deflect to the MK Party.
He said while his party prepares for a coalition government after the May polls - it would be a hard-sell to partner with the ANC.

Many believe the IFP could be the kingmaker of this election should the ANC and the Democratic Alliance (DA) fail to reach the thresholds for outright governance at both provincial and national levels.
But its President Velenkosini Hlabisa is not leaning towards the ANC.
"It would be difficult to work with ANC because the ANC destroyed the country. If you want to fix South Africa, you can’t fix it with people who destroyed it."
Hlabisa is undeterred by the rise of the MK Party in KwaZulu-Natal where the IFP also has its greatest support.
"People of KwaZulu-Natal know who Jacob Zuma is. He had nine years as the president of our country, they know the damage he did."
He said MK Party's real support will only be known once it launches its manifesto.
