JOHANNESBURG - RISE Mzansi believes it can create 600,000 new permanent jobs over five years in Gauteng through industrial development.
The party says if it’s voted into power it will prioritise re-opening closed factories in Gauteng and create special economic zones that target manufacturing, green energy and business process outsourcing.
On Monday, RISE Mzansi’s Gauteng premier candidate Vuyiswa Ramokgopa presented the party’s Gauteng plan at Beyers Naude Square in Johannesburg.
Ramokgopa said Gauteng was a shadow of the province that used to be bustling with economic opportunity at every turn.
“We will ensure that we facilitate low-cost capital for all small and medium-sized enterprises. We will partner with the private sector and access the millions that are available but that are just not being given to SMMEs [Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises] and we will also channel government grant funding towards SMMEs.”
