JOHANNESBURG - As the country enjoys some reprieve from load shedding, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said this would not be for long.
He said that South Africans must expect rolling blackouts to return as soon as vote counting begins on election day on 29 May.
Malema told attendees at an EFF town-hall meeting in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, on Saturday that load shedding was "man-made".

He questioned why there were no outages during the Rugby World Cup last year, claiming it was to appease the captains of industry.
While Malema has defended the electoral process in the past, he claimed the power would go off in order to allow for the stealing of the votes to happen.
"They want us to count in darkness so that they can steal elections, the same way they did here in Gauteng."
