JOHANNESBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma has addressed his supporters on what he believes was unfair treatment by the courts, which he claims favour his successor President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Zuma attended his private prosecution case of Ramaphosa at the Johannesburg High Court on Thursday.

He wants Ramaphosa charged as an accessory after the fact in his case against prosecutor Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan.

But the Supreme Court of Appeal declared the private prosecution unlawful - a ruling he is appealing.

The former president accused the courts of being biased.

“When I was in Cuba seeking medical help, my lawyers told the court there was a judge that demanded that I come to court.”

He suggested that the courts favour Ramaphosa.

“Even when money is found in his sofas, he does not come to court once.”

Zuma’s private prosecution bid will return to court in August.
