In 1972, four-year-old Aura Guerrero walked to her corner store in Colombia's capital Bogotá, to pick up a snack.
But she never made it home - until 52 years later.
Guerrero recalls a 'tall woman' with 'long hair' and features she'll never forget, snatching her off the street. The kidnapper had intended to sell the child a few towns over, but dumped her in the 'middle of nowhere' instead.
But, Gilchrist reports, 'she got lucky' when a loving couple took her in and adopted her.
Fast-forward 52 years later, when Guerrero's brother recognised his kidnapped sister on a Facebook photo and reached out to her, leading to their recent reunion.
Sadly, Guerrero's parents, who never stopped searching for their daughter all over Colombia, died a few years ago.
Yet Guerrero remains positive, saying the reunion with her brother 'is a real dream'.
"It's something wonderful only God can do," she told the Daily Mail .
Gilchrist says it's 'extraordinary' and admirable how Guerrero finds 'positivity through this adversity'.
"It's extraordinary, just wow... after everything she's been through."
