DURBAN - The Pietermaritzburg High Court has postponed Jacob Zuma's latest bid to privately prosecute State advocate Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan.
Downer is the lead prosecutor in his arms deal trial.
The court will hand down a decision on 17 April.
Zuma first instituted the private prosecution in 2022, alleging the State leaked his confidential medical records to Maughan.
However, the same court set it aside and Zuma’s been trying to appeal that ruling – with the Supreme Court of Appeal twice dismissing bids from Zuma to appeal the high court ruling to set aside the private prosecution.
The case is now pending at the Constitutional Court.
Neither Downer nor Maughan were at Tuesday’s proceedings.
Outside the court, however, Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe Party supporters gathered in their numbers, singing and chanting.
