DURBAN - The murder case of an eThekwini metro police officer linked to the death of his girlfriend has been remanded to next Monday for the accused to get legal representation.
Sizwe Ngema appeared before the Durban Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He is charged with the murder of Bianca Khuzwayo - who was also an eThekwini metro police cop - and theft.
It's alleged Ngema stabbed Khuzwayo to death and filmed her taking her last breath last month end.
The video went viral on social media hours before he was arrested.
Tuesday’s proceedings were set for a bail consideration but the court learned that Ngema does not have a legal representative.
This led to another delay in the proceedings.
“The case was remanded to the 15th of April for the accused to apply for legal aid," said the National Prosecuting Authority’s Natasha Ramkisson Kara.
Outside court, a group of women sang a song in solidarity with the slain officer demanding that the accused be denied bail.
