JOHANNESBRG - An investigation into the death of 12-year-old Latoya Temilton has found that there was little supervision by teachers who were responsible for the pupils during an excursion where she drowned.

This was revealed by a law firm appointed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the learner's death in January.

Ntshupetsang Attorneys held a briefing by the Gauteng Education Department on Thursday morning.

The grade 7 pupil's death sparked public outrage after parents accused Laerskool Queenswood in Pretoria of trying to keep them quiet about her death.

Ntshupetsang Attorneys representative, Meshack Ntshupetsang: "We say this because during our investigation, it's only the facilitators of the camp that could give account, and the learners, on how Latoya drowned."
