JOHANNESBURG - The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party said it would expel any of its members who incited violence.
Durban-based MK leader, Visvin Reddy, appeared at the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Wednesday on charges related to inciting public violence.
This relates to his comments at a rally in March where he said there would be anarchy and riots in the country if the new party was removed from the ballot paper.
MK youth leader, Bonginkosi Khanyile echoed Reddy's remarks many times.
Party spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela, said that such comments were not a reflection of its values.
"Any member, and I need to make it clear, who utters any words of violence, wearing regalia of uMkhonto [weSizwe], we will take drastic measures because we can’t be associated with any elements of criminality."
