JOHANNESBURG - National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula's application to interdict her arrest has been struck off the roll in the Pretoria High Court.
Mapisa-Nqakula faces 12 counts of corruption and money laundering.
It's alleged she received over R4.5 million in kickbacks from a defence contractor back when she was the defence minister.
Last week, Mapisa-Nqakula filed an interdict to prevent her imminent arrest, saying it would infringe on her dignity.
She took special leave from her parliamentary duties after her Johannesburg house was raided by law enforcement officials as part of a broad investigation.
Judge Sulet Potterill made the ruling on Tuesday morning, saying Mapisa-Nqakula's case was weak and not urgent.
"Any suspect will merely have to set out in a founding affidavit that an arrest in future will be unlawful. The whole criminal justice system will fold and will be controlled by suspects."
Judge Sulet Potterill is handing down judgement in Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa's attempt to interdict her arrest.
