JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) election campaigners have received a warm welcome from Soweto residents, some of whom said they still believe in the party despite all its flaws over the past 30 years.
In remembrance of struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, six years since her passing, the party’s women’s league conducted a door-to-door campaign in her hometown on Tuesday.

The 83-year-old said the late anti-apartheid activist is the main reason she’s an ANC supporter.
“I’m going to vote for the ANC with its flaws and all. I know very well there is no party that is going to deliver us than the ANC, these others are just doing it for themselves.”
ANC Women’s League president Sisi Tolashe said the party has made mistakes and learned from them.
