The water utility has provided water tankers to the affected areas, with no timeframe on when water will be restored.
Johannesburg Water is expected to provide water tankers to Sundowner, Honeydew, Northgate, and Northriding until the repairs to the Honeydew Reservoir are complete.
The repairs are set to begin on Tuesday, with the system expected to be isolated.
This means all areas feeding from the reservoir will not have water during this period.
There has not been a timeframe as to when the repairs will be completed.
Residents across Johannesburg have been urged to use water sparingly.
