'Believe in yourself': Grammy winner Tyla encourages South Africans upon return home

JOHANNESBURG - Grammy Award-winning singer Tyla has encouraged South Africans to believe in themselves despite their backgrounds.
The Water hitmaker addressed fans at the OR Tambo International Airport in Joburg, where she received a hero's welcome on Saturday.

Tyla landed in the country for the first time since winning a Grammy in February.
She says the possibilities are endless, but only when people believe in themselves.
"We had to bring the Grammy home to South Africa. I am so proud of myself, so proud of everyone. I just want to say all your dreams are possible, no matter where you come from, no matter how little or how much you have."
METRO FM MUSIC AWARDS 2024
For the Metro FM Music Awards 2024, Tyla is leading the pack with six nominations for Water.
She is nominated in the following categories: Song of the Year, Best Female Artist, Best Music Video, Best Viral Challenge and Artist of the Year.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Mbombela Stadium, in Mpumalanga, on 27 April 2024 and will be broadcast live on SABC 1.
The songstress was born Tyla Seethal, in Edenvale, Johannesburg, and is the middle child with four other siblings.
