Joshlin Smith probe continues: Pieces of clothing presumed to be hers in police possession

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have confirmed reports that its investigators are in possession of pieces of clothing found in Diazville, Saldanha Bay.
It's unclear whether the evidence forms part of the case of missing Joshlin Smith – but a report by Die Burger states that the blood-stained clothing was found in a spot where one of the suspects arrested in connection with the six-year-old’s disappearance was spotted.
The report by Die Burger also mentions that a few other clothing items were found, including a sheet and a knife.
Moreover, the publication revealed, the items were found in a blocked drain in Diazville.
In a statement to Eyewitness News, Western Cape police confirmed that the investigation into Joshlin’s disappearance as well as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the clothing that was found continues.

A fourth suspect arrested in connection with the case appeared in court this past week.
Lourentia Lombaard abandoned her bail application in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court.
She will return to court on 13 May, joined by the three other suspects including Joshlin’s mother Kelly and her boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis.
They face charges of human trafficking and kidnapping.
Joshlin has been missing since 19 February.
