JOHANNESBURG - Former President Jacob Zuma is reportedly unhurt after being involved in a car crash.

The accident took place around 6pm on Thursday night in Eshowe, north of KwaZulu-Natal, when a car allegedly crashed into Zuma’s convoy.

People close to him say he was unhurt.

Umkhonto weSizwe’s head of elections, Musa Mkhize, said Zuma was on his way to his Nkandla homestead following a political event in Eshowe.

“Like I said, it was an accident which still needs to be investigated. Our belief is that it still needs to be investigated… mainly because it targeted the car that the [former] president was in.”
