Candidates appearing on more than one party’s list not disqualifying, says IEC
The commission said it received 82 objections regarding its published list of candidates in the three ballots, but only upheld one - that of Former President Jacob Zuma.

JOHANNESBURG - The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) says there are no legal issues with candidates who appear on lists of more than one party.
On Thursday, the IEC announced it finalised its objections process regarding its published list of candidates in the three ballots.

The commission said it received 82 objections, but only upheld one - that of Former President Jacob Zuma.
IEC Chairperson Masotho Moepya said the commission observed a number of candidates appearing on the lists of different parties, but that this, however, was not disqualifying.
“We are required to inform parties that nominated them that they are standing on more than one list, that's all we do. Parties will then decide what they want to do with those situations, if they want to replace them from their lists, it’s a call they make, and not the commission.”
