JOHANNESBURG - Motorists will have to dig deeper at the pumps as the price of petrol and diesel will increase for a third consecutive month.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy issued a statement with the new prices on Thursday.
Petrol will increase by between 65 and 67 cents a litre while wholesale diesel is set to increase by three cents.
However, the price of illuminating paraffin and LP gas are set to decrease in the coming month.
The price increases will come into effect from next Wednesday.
"The reason for these adjustments are the higher oil prices and a stronger rand to the dollar during the period under review. The rand cushioned the prices by over 10 cents a litre," said Energy Department's spokesperson, Robert Maake.
