JOHANNESBURG - Legendary South African musician Thandiswa Mazwai's much anticipated NPR Tiny Desk Concert is set to drop on Monday.
Tiny Desk Concerts is a video series of live concerts hosted by the creator of NPR's popular All Songs Considered podcast.
News about her gracing the Tiny Desk unplugged performance emerged last year when King Tha - as she's affectionately known - teased her fans about a request she received to perform.
She joins other South African musicians such as the legendary Abdullah Ibrahim, Black Coffee and Black Motion.
King Tha had this to say about the concert.
"The Tiny Desk was one of those dreams come true for me and my family. My daughter even said I was finally famous now that I had an NPR performance. It was intermittent and the team at NPR were extremely generous, so I want to say thank you to Global Festival for hooking us up."
