JOHANNESBURG - The State says it is in the interest of justice that five of the seven men accused of killing rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibs” Motsoane do not get bail.
On Wednesday, the State presented evidence in the Durban Magistrates Court as to why the men should be denied bail.

Senior State prosecutor, Advocate Elvis Gcweka, told the court on Wednesday that five of the seven men accused of the murders will not suffer any financial loss due to being incarcerated.
"Applicants failed to establish the existence of exceptional circumstances warranting their release on bail. The interests of justice do not favour the release of the accused on bail."
He said he believed they had presented strong arguments as to why the men should remain in custody.
"The investigations in this matter are at an advanced stage and very strong against the applicants. My team and I took a long time to investigate this matter prior to arresting the applicants in order not to delay the matter further after arrest."
The case was rolled over to next Tuesday where more evidence will be laid bare by the State.
