Accused in AKA, Tibz murders used their payments for personal gain

JOHANNESBURG - The men arrested in connection with the murders of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane used the money they allegedly received as payment for the hit, for their personal gain.
The State alleges that each of the accused received a sum of about R133,000 for the murders of Forbes and Motsoane.

Five of the seven accused were before the Durban Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where the State was opposing their bail.
Police previously revealed that Forbes was the primary target and Motsoane was caught in the crossfire.
State prosecutor advocate Elvis Gcweka: "Applicant four, Gwabeni, used these proceeds of criminal activities to pay school fees for one of his children to an amount of R90,000 and other applicants for their personal gain."
