'Police must work at grassroots level' - ActionSA Gauteng

ActionSA's Gauteng chairperson, Funzi Ngobeni has called on the government to strengthen the police service by working closely with communities to effectively fight crime.
He was speaking at the party's manifesto launch in Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Ngobeni says the current police service has become unreliable.
"We don't want to rely on the minister of police. We want our police at the grassroots level ...they must go there and work with our patrollers. They must go there and work with our metro police.
"This issue of Amapanyaza sitting at the province [level]... it's nonsense. Amapanyaza must be at the local level and working with local police."
