Witness in case against alleged gang boss Nafiz Modack details involvement in murder
The State witness has detailed how he was allegedly asked by one of the co-accused to help in the murder of Nicolaas Heerschap, the father of a former Hawks officer.

CAPE TOWN - An alleged triggerman-turned-State-witness in the case against alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, has detailed his involvement in one of the murders.
Modack and 14 other co-accused are in the Western Cape High Court.

They face a slew of charges related to the assassination of slain Anti-Gang Unit detective, Charl Kinnear, who was killed outside his Bishop Lavis home in September 2020.
According to the State, Modack and his co-accused are also behind the murder of Nicolaas Heerschap, the father of a former Hawks officer.
The State witness has detailed how he was allegedly asked by one of the co-accused to help in the murder of Heerschap.
Heercap was killed outside his Melkbosstrand home in July 2019.
The pensioner was killed in a hit that investigators believe was a case of mistaken identity.
The intended target was his police officer son, Nico.
Modack is also accused of the attempted murder of criminal defence lawyer, William Booth.
Booth was shot at multiple times outside outside his Higgovale home in 2020.
