CoCT urges motorists to settle outstanding fines ahead of Easter long weekend
The City of Cape Town will be doubling down on rule breakers by bringing back its traffic fine roadshow in a bid to clear thousands of outstanding fines and warrants.

CAPE TOWN - As the Easter long weekend approaches, motorists with outstanding fines may find themselves in trouble with law enforcement.
Traffic police are expected to be on high alert over the next two weeks as long-distance commuters prepare to travel across the country for the annual Easter celebrations.
The City of Cape Town is among those doubling down on rule breakers, calling for motorists with prior infringements to settle their outstanding fines.
The City of Cape Town said it's bringing back its traffic fine roadshow in a bid to clear 17,000 outstanding fines and 5,000 warrants.
The city said the latest traffic fine roadshow initiative is a continuation of similar initiatives over the festive season.
As part of the drive, the metro said over 2,000 motorists have already been assisted settle their fines.
According to the municipality, more than R4 million was collected over the festive period.
The city is urging drivers with queries to raise them with officials at the Cape Town Civic Centre between 25 and 27 March.
