JOHANNESBURG - The Cresta Shopping Centre's security came under the spotlight yet again after eleven armed robbers stole jewellery in broad daylight.
It is understood that the gang entered the mall just before midday on Saturday and fired four shots, but no one was wounded.
The armed robbers stormed Bello Jewellers and stole accessories on display.
Police Spokesperson Brenda Muridili said the group managed to escape from the crime scene.
"The suspects fired shots randomly while fleeing to their getaway vehicles, a white Jetta and a silver Toyota Etios. No injuries were reported, and the station’s Trio Crime Unit is investigating a case of business robbery."
