JOHANNESBURG - Multichoice has denied allegations that a witness in the upcoming Thabo Bester trial is a participant of a four-part docuseries that details the convict’s brazen prison escape from Mangaung Prison in May 2022.
It emerged on Friday that celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana’s brother Nathi Sekeleni is featured in the controversial Showmax production.

This was revealed in a failed legal bid by Bester and Magudumana to stop the documentary from airing.
During proceedings, the Facebook rapist’s lawyers argued that Sekeleni’s appearance in the documentary - titled "Tracking Thabo Bester" - could compromise his trial.
While Multichoice says Sekeleni hasn’t been subpoenaed in Bester’s trial, Bester's lawyer Neo Motsatsi said she hoped his appearance in the docuseries won’t be an infringement on his rights to a dignified trial.
"We would have at least expected the court to allow us space to either view or at least have whatever it is that is in the documentary said by Mr Sekeleni, who happens to be Dr Nandipha’s brother."
