A poll conducted on behalf of The Brenthurst Foundation suggests former President Jacob Zuma's MK party is currently the third largest in South Africa, behind the ANC and the DA.

If the election was held right now, the poll shows, MK would get 13%, behind the DA with 27% and the ANC with 39%.

"It's the first major poll done since the formation of MK"
- Greg Mills, Director - Brenthurst Foundation
"The big losers are the ANC and the EFF and the big gainers, and this is a big startler, is the DA."

Researchers also asked South Africans they interviewed about the issues most important to them.

"Overwhelmingly, South Africans are concerned about unemployment and corruption, together that's 55% of the poll."
- Greg Mills, Director - Brenthurst Foundation
"Loadshedding is at 17% , and leadership is a 12% and that supplanted crime, as one of the top four issues."
